temporary landing pad

or not-so-temporary…

i’ve never claimed to be the most tech-savvy individualy (i was, after all, born before 1970), but i have previously been able to upgrade this blog to newer versions of wordpress without doing damage…until the other night, when i apparently either 1) deleted all our posts, or 2) screwed up the communication between our database server and the wordpress presentation (my hoped-for issue, since then i theoretically should be able to retrieve everything and set it up correctly).

but i’m busy now, see — moving to almost full-time at work, going to my (gulp) 20th college reunion this weekend, trying to ride my bike between the raindrops, and spending as much time as possible with the big kid, the big kid’s mama, and the everr-increasing bulge in her belly that holds gus.

so for now, since setting up a wordpress blog is as easy as luddite pie, here we are. I don’t think we can do all the same widget-y gadgets, but we’ll try to get some of them, or reasonable substitutes, up here. (FYI, gus is 25 weeks and 1 day today.)

and really, the only new development i can think of right now is that carole is sounding more and more like a diesel engine when she moves around. the other day i said, “you know, i’m aware that the 3rd trimester doesn’t officially start for another three weeks, but i think you’re there now. sweetie [smile lovingly and duck].” but i didn’t need to duck; she just sighed (loudly), and said wearily, ” i know. i know.”
