rules on our block

here’s the skinny.

by reading this blog on a regular or semi-regular basis, you agree:

• to forego any right to complain about sickeningly-gooey baby talk, tmi pregnancy information, and discussions of bodily fluids and functions. don’t want to hear it? don’t stop by.
• to sass back to your heart’s content in the comments. you also agree that if we don’t like what you say, we’ll delete it. deal with it.
• to avoid saying stupid, mean, or small-minded things like “what the hell are you thinking trying to have another kid?” or “aren’t two dead daughters enough for you?” or “you’ll get what you deserve.” (preferably you will avoid thinking things like that, although i am wiling to admit that our powers of control extend only so far.)
• that if something terrible happens to the new kid, you will express sympathy and love and sorrow. you will send a card. you will not send something living — a plant, or flowers — because i just have to say, keeping some damn gift alive after your baby has just died is a shitty thing to be asked to do. and you will call our baby by her name.

if you can’t do these things, you should quit reading now. for real.
